Bunjevac's retelling follows Benny, who, when he comes across a former classmate, concocts a disturbing rape fantasy. In her stippled, illustrative style, Bunjevac crafts a gripping noirish, Nabokovian tale, by turns sensual, surreal, and harrowing, that turns the male gaze inside-out.
